Red, White and YOU: Celebrating 250 Years of America
Semiquincentennial is the formal term for a 250th anniversary. It is celebrated to commemorate a once in a generation milestone. This celebration specifically marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. It will serve as a tribute to our nation's ongoing history, values and future.
Major milestones like this are rare. It provides an opportunity to look back at the origins of the nation. It acts as a time to evaluate progress, celebrate cultural achievements, and recognize diverse contributions of all Americans who built this country. More than just a "birthday party it is an opportunity to look forward and recommit to the foundations and principles that helped shape our country guiding the direction for the future.
Our 140th Old Settlers celebration, although after the anniversary date, will help do
just that- celebrate our past, enjoy the present and look toward the future. Please join us and participate in the many activities and events to celebrate this milestone in history.
